Prior to joining the commercial real estate industry, John served in the army on active duty from 1991 to 1995. His childhood dream was to join the military as an officer, so he pursued it. He served in Korea, Egypt, Israel, Germany, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and San Antonio, TX.

He felt it was time to leave the army after achieving the rank of captain. After resigning, he went to work for Buckeye International in Maryland Heights, MO, selling chemicals. That year, he was based in Memphis, TN, and his area included Western Tennessee, North Mississippi, all of Arkansas, and a small portion of northwest Alabama. He was subsequently presented with an offer he couldn’t refuse: a job in commercial real estate.
